A Look At Paramore
By: Nicole Bradley
The year was 2006, Bayside was on tour with what you would think was the most unknown band in the country – Paramore. I stepped into the room, and the band had just finished setting up. The crowd was accepting, nodding their heads and tapping their feet to the rhythm of the beat, but no one knew who this random red-headed, female fronted band was. Hayley Williams, who stuck to jeans and Harry Potter T-shirts, lit up the stage along with fellow band mates Jeremy Davis, Hunter Lamb, and brothers Josh and Zac Farro. After their set, they walked around the venue, shared Skittles with fans and were the most laidback people you’d ever meet.
After this tour, Paramore had blossomed into one of the music industry’s top bands. With releasing their platinum album RIOT!, winning several awards, and being heard in hit movies such as Twilight and Superman, Paramore hit ultimate stardom. Along with that, came the ridiculous amounts of fans around the world.

Today, Paramore is internationally known and everyone knows those songs that were originally tapped along to. The chances of one meeting Paramore? Slim to none. If any of them were to walk around offering up Skittles they would be sold on E-bay for thousands of dollars. The only chance one would have of meeting Paramore nowadays is by joining their official fanclub which has a fee of about $30 a year, and even then your chances are slim.
In about two months now, Paramore will be releasing their new album Brand New Eyes. Fans are already so pumped to hear what’s next that the preorders were selling faster than hotcakes. So far the band has released their new single Ignorance and has already had about 2 million hits.

So is it safe to say that Paramore is the new No Doubt? That they have reached such a level of success that even if their new album is terrible, they will sell millions of copies? In my personal opinion, yes. Even with the hard economy and the increase of illegally downloaded music, Brand New Eyes will be successful no matter what.
