Jonny saw his biggest accomplishment with Shred News to be that he got an interview for the first article he ever wrote on Will Knox. Jonny wrote for Shred News September 2009-January 2010. He left the staff to focus on school work.

Vampire Weekend Contra CD Review

Vampire Weekend, the New York band formed in 2006 are an unorthodox pop sensation drawing influence from African popular music as well as western classical. Ezra, Rostam, Chris Tomson and Chris Baio met at Columbia University and after graduating, they began independently recording and producing their debut album while holding full time jobs. Recognized as "The Year's Best New Band" in 2008 by Spin magazine, the band is now trying to follow up their debut accolades with sophomore effort, Contra.

Take Notice The Get-Go EP Review

Mike Duggan (vocals) Colin Guffey (guitar/vocals) Noah Fenton (guitar), Jack Mallinger (bass), and Trey Cook on drums comprise Take Notice, the pop-punk/hardcore group from Detroit, MI that is hoping for critics to take their name literally while listening to their debut EP The Get Go. Whether or not reviewers pick up on this subtle wordplay, it is instantly recognizable that Take Notice sound remarkably tight for a band in such early an early stage of development and whose Myspace page reads "We Need A Singer!".

Gov’t Mule – By A Thread Review

Formed in 1994 as the result of an Allman Brother’s Band side project, and releasing their first recordings in 1995, Gov’t Mule is a blues-rock infused American jam band originally formed by guitarist Warren Haynes, bassist Allen Woody, and drummer Matt Abts. After Allen Woody passed away in 2000, the band was faced with the formidable task of finding a bassist to fill his spot. This void was filled by former Black Crowes member, Andy Hess from 2003 to 2008. For their 7th studio effort, By A Thread, Haynes and Abts are joined by Jorgen Carlsson on bass and Danny Louis on keys.

Flight of the Conchords I Told You I Was Freaky CD Review

New Zealand based singing and song writing duo and traveling comedy act Flight of the Conchords released "I Told You I Was Freaky", their latest collection of comedic melodies on Oct. 20th. The group is also popular for their self titled HBO series, which chronicles the lives of the two struggling musicians Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, their obsessively devoted fan Mel (played by Kristen Schaal), and their lovably inept booking agent Murray, played by Rhys Darby.
