Artist You Should Know: Marina And The Diamonds

'I'm Marina. You are the diamonds.' declares 24-year old Marina Lambrini Diamandis on her Myspace page. Commonly mistaken for a band, Marina and the Diamonds is already tipped to be one of the top breakthrough artists in British music this year, and deservedly so - her debut album The Family Jewels has already reached #5 in the album chart, ahead of new releases by the likes of Johnny Cash and The Courteeners. The Welsh singer/songwriter began to dabble seriously in music back in 2007 when she recorded and self-released her first EP, Mermaid Vs Sailor.

Band To Watch Fight Like Apes

ight Like Apes are an alternative rock band from Dublin, Ireland. Formed back in 2006 the foursome, led by vocalist MayKay (Mary-Kate) Geraghty (Vocals/Synth), are known for their rather eccentric stage antics, including but not limited to stage dives, play fighting and Geraghty playing the keyboard with her head. Another of their recognizable traits is the use of long album and EP titles such as Fight Like Apes and the Mystery of the Golden Medallion which are used in order to wind up journalists

Like A Storm The End Of The Beginning CD Review

Most people would feel that a band had 'jumped the gun' slightly if after just one rehearsal together they decided to up-sticks to Canada, saying a sudden goodbye to their native New Zealand home. What if - like so often with bands - the members fall-out? Perhaps, while tucking into their lumpy plane food, they decide that it's all too soon? However, it's to this remarkable determination and faith in their musical ability that Like A Storm owes much of their success.

Band You Should Know: Now, Now Every Children

Some people say that all good things come in small packages. Personally I disagree because you can't fit things like the Eiffel Tower in a 4x6 envelope (unless you plan to rebuild it with Lego). With this in mind I've decided to change the statement to make it Universally friendly: Some good things come in small packages. Now, Now Every Children is one of these good things. In fact you might just call them 'great'.

Camera Can’t Lie Days And Days Review

The Days and Days EP is just a tantalizing teaser of whats yet to come from Minnesota rock band Camera Can't Lie. Discovered and managed by Grammy Award-winning producer Stephen Short, the three-piece, who signed to Atlantic records in 2008, have already settled well into the music scene and their new five-track preview of the upcoming full-length will only further confirm that their place is well deserved. Within just four years the guys - Eric Arjes (Vocals/Guitar), Kyle Lindsay (Bass), and Josh Bendell (Drums) - have reached musical heights that most musicians can only dream of, including tours with the likes of Anberlin, The Rocket Summer, and The Almost.
