Crash Coordinates The Business Of Making You Move Review

By: Kristina Valentine

The fist impression for most when hearing a band like Crash Coordinates is that it’s something you’ve heard before. Crash Coordinates proves that sometimes sounding familiar isn’t always a bad thing. The latest E.P. from this pop/rock band is called The Business of Making You Move. It’s a sure recommendation for those who wouldn’t mind listening to a playlist built by the people at VH1.

In Circles isn’t the strongest song to start off a c.d. to. The beginning of it is weak to say the least, but as the song progresses, you get a mildly infectious chorus and a great instrumental solo towards the end.

It’s unclear whether the band meant to blend the first half of their next track, The Scandal and In Circles together, or if it was a creative mistake. The nearly identical beats make the song the biggest flop on this album. On its own, the song would have been fairly decent, with its well written lyrics.

If A Goodbye Song is the best track that they could think to place in the middle of the album, there’s a problem. With the albums forgettable lyrics and average chorus, it’s a song that one wouldn’t feel guilty skipping over.

Falling for You is the shining star on this album. The lyrics would make any girl swoon and the song beautifully showcases the singer’s voice. Somehow Crash Coordinates found a way to make the song overly sweet without being corny. This is a pop song in its best.

Use You is a perfect way to end the E.P.  The sound of the song is smothered in confidence. The chorus is the most infectious one on the album and the lyrics aren’t too shabby either. A surprise guitar solo towards the end takes this song to a whole new level.

Overall, this E.P. seems more like experimenting of the band then solid material to the fans. Most of the songs seem to be heading in different directions. Crash Coordinates definitely accomplishes in showcasing what they have to offer instrumentally and lyrically throughout the album.
