From Milwaukee, Wisconsin, comes a band that is emerging as a noticeably talented rock group that has won spots on Warped Tour, as well as The Taste Of Chaos. Also, according to Alternative Press Magazine, they are one of the top eight best unsigned bands. It is obvious that the band’s musical journey is picking up quickly, and it seems to be boding well for the group. Recently, Hail Archer released a free download of Leave Your Body Behind, which after hearing once, you will be listening to constantly.
The first 46 seconds of the album is a track called “Open Air” which includes the lyrics “Leave Your Body Behind.” This is an interesting intro to the album, but it leaves you curious for what is yet to come. This intro offers a more gentle sound that contrasts the rest of the album, which builds to become a bit intense. Though “Open Air” may be short and sweet, it leads directly into “Stormbringer,” which immediately starts out with an awesome guitar progression and a heavy sound. Vocalist Brian Tombari, sings with an incredible amount of emotion and passion. The song itself is very tight and together, providing a downright astounding experience.
“Fearing Forever” is a very powerful song that fills out the direction for the entire album. The harmonies flow together nicely, especially in the chorus. The lyrics are intriguing and purposeful, partnering at times with the drumming, such as after the second chorus, to create an intense sound that is only furthered by properly placed screaming. The musicianship on “Fearing Forever” sets the flow for the rest of the album and transitions nicely into “Bury This In Texas.” The powerhouse vocals, mixed with the intense sound of the band, are a great start right at the beginning of the song. This held consistent throughout the rest of the song, allowing the elements of the track to naturally blend.
Furthermore, the entire feel to “Decades Underground” is brilliant. The way the song starts off slow, but picks up in the chorus, allows the drumming to carry the song. On this track, Hail Archer has achieved raw emotion that shows through every part of the music: the melody, lyrics, vocals, everything is just done so well. The last song on the album, “Manipulated Living,” brings the album into an impressive finish. This song starts off incredible, and allows the guitar to build and become the most notable part of this song, only to bring it to a fade out in the end, leaving you in awe.
Overall, this album is absolutely extraordinary. The band has an unbelievable amount of talent; and though they may be unsigned, it does not go unnoticed. What sets them apart from other bands is that there is not just one great thing about the band; as a whole they are amazing. Hail Archer has a fan base that is quickly growing. Their sound is intensified, and full of energy. If you haven’t yet, check out the band and their music, because is definitely worth it.
