SHRED: Who are each of the members of the band and what do you each play?

Matt: Matt-vocals, Marc-guitar/vocals, Mikey-bass/vocals, Nevada-guitar/vocals and Jack-drums

Shred: When and how did A Loss For Words get started?

Matt: I started A Loss For Words in 1999 but we didn’t really get completely serious and form this line up until 2007.

SHRED: What made you choose A Loss For Words as your band name?

Matt: When I had a death in my family and the start of the mass we were at a loss for words.

SHRED: With so many different genres of music floating around, what genre  of music do you consider your band to be?

Matt: I consider us pop/punk! Old fashioned!

SHRED: Do you have any major musical influences when it comes to the band?

Matt: Yeah we love bands such as Saves The Day, New Found Glory, Alkaline Trio, AFI, GB, Reach The Sky, so on and so on! We just love all kinds of music and really appreciate the honesty!

SHRED: Does the band have someone specific who does most of the  songwriting or is it a group process?

Matt: Well we all do a lot when it comes to the writing but Marc had a lot to do with the last record! Amazing song writer!

SHRED: You guys just recently released your new album The Kids Can’t  Loose, how do you feel about the record?

Matt: We are very excited with the new release! I feel we are where we should have been a few years ago. It’s all DIY, so we are just touring as much as we can and spreading the word about the record!

SHRED: Do you guys have any plans for music videos, singles, or tours to  support the record planned out?

Matt: We have a video for Stamp Of Approval up now! We also have another video coming out for Hold Your Breath that our good friend Ron Soucy filmed for us! As for touring we are in the process of a tour that had legs with bands such as The Status, This Time Next Year, and Transit! After this we tour with our good friends Set Your Goals, Four Year Strong, Fireworks and Polar Bear Club!

SHRED: What is your favorite song off the record?

Matt: I’d say Mt. Saint Joesph. It’s about losing close friends and our family to drug loss. It means a lot to us.

SHRED: What is the craziest A Loss For Words tour or show story?

Matt: The craziest rated G story is Mikey eating a cockroach!

SHRED: What can we expect to see from A Loss For Words this summer?

Matt: Lots of touring!
