The Ready Set Interview

By: Bekka Collins
SHRED: How and when did The Ready Set form?
Jordan Witzigreuter: I started writing my own music during the summer of 2007. I started TRS as a side project kind of deal and used some of the songs I wrote just to see how people reacted. I made a Myspace and slowly started taking it more seriously, and it grew into what it is now.
SHRED: Is there any meaning behind the name?
Jordan Witzigreuter: I made it during a time where I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with my life. It kind of means being ready to put everything behind and you going out and doing what you want, regardless of consequence.
SHRED: What’s your favorite song to play live and why?
Jordan Witzigreuter: “Stays Four The Same”. It’s just super fun! Lots of energy, it’s in a good range for me. It’s a good time!
SHRED:Who would be your biggest musical influence?
Jordan Witzigreuter: Copeland
SHRED: How’s the tour with NeverShoutNever and Boys Like Girls going?
Jordan Witzigreuter It’s going awesome. The kids have been amazing and crowds have reacted great!
SHRED: You’re on the tour you’re playing at some Six Flags locations, is it different from playing venues?
Jordan Witzigreuter Kind of. Basically it’s just a way bigger stage and more people. It’s easier than playing for 20 people, tha’s for sure.
SHRED: What are your plans after touring?
Jordan Witzigreuter: Write, tour, write, tour some more!
SHRED: If you could tour with anyone in any place who and where would you pick?
Jordan Witzigreuter: The Beatles – full world tour.
SHRED: If you couldn’t make music what do you think you would be doing?
Jordan Witzigreuter: Probably in college doing something I wouldn’t really want to be doing. Haha
SHRED: One thing you’re scared of?
Jordan Witzigreuter: Water snakes.
SHRED: Your top 3 songs right now?
Jordan Witzigreuter: Copeland – Take Care, whatever is on the iPod in the van, and whatever is the new “hot” radio hip hop single.
SHRED: Anything else you’d like to add?
Jordan Witzigreuter: If you haven’t checked my music, head over to myspace.com/thereadyset and do so! Thanks so much to anyone who’s come out to the shows! I love you!
