Look I’m Burning is a band from Madison Wisconsin. It consists of Brandon Connor (vocals), Matt Tyler (guitar and vocals), Apostolos Holevas (lead guitar), Jaime Palma (bass), and Paul Wendell Swift , III(drums). For being an unsigned band, trying to make it in the music industry, the band has a pretty decent fan base on MySpace, with over 600 friends or listeners. They recently released their EP titled The All Eyes.
“Call For A Good Time” is the opening track for the EP. I love the sound of the screams. They mix with the vocals very well creating an awesome hard rock sound. A lot of bands out there now have screamers where it just gets repetitive and boring, but not with this band, that’s for sure. The song was the first I had heard, and it made me want to go to a live show because the song just makes you want to jump around. Brought in by a crescendo of drums is the song “Blood Harvest: Farmhouse Finale”. Honestly, the song starts out a little too dark for me, but any metal fans would really like this. It’s hard to hear some of the lyrics, but the vocals have a nice sound to them. The overall sound of the band together is awesome though. The guitar is what I really recognized because it just really stands out in this song over the vocals.
“So Much For Sweet Dreams” has a really catchy sound at the beginning, which is good because it keeps you listening. Again, it’s difficult to hear the lyrics, so it’s hard to get a message from the song. This song makes you want to head bang like crazy. It has an awesome beat and again the guitar and drums seem to stand out the most. Bringing the album to a close is “Now For The Bad News”. The song has a really powerful feel to it. It’s really intense, and has an awesome sound. All the tracks on this EP really did. I just wish I could hear some lyrics clearer, but the band has an awesome sound and feel. The songs are all really smooth and it’s surprising that the band has yet to be discovered. I think there will be a great future for this band in the music industry, because they have an great sound all together, and a lot of potential.
