Mmmkay No One Waits Forever CD Review

By: Ashley Pagano

The two talented musicians that make up the duo Mmmkay met when they were both studying music at Berklee in Boston, Massachusetts. The group has almost 24,000 fans on MySpace along with a long list of comments from listeners who like what they hear.

The first song is “No One Waits Forever”. The vocals are very easy to listen to and very relaxing, even with the upbeat sound that the songs have. Both the male and female vocals are perfect. “Worth Hunting For” catches your attention right at the beginning. You can easily tell that it’s a catchy tune just by the intro. The lyrics are smart and well written.

See You Again” is my favorite song on the CD. The melody is awesome, and the song is very well written. I love the synthesized sound that the band has. I especially like the female vocals in this song, because they fit in it really well. Then, when they’re both singing together, the harmonies are gorgeous and their voices go together so nicely. The vocals seem so much stronger and more dominant in “Sophie”. I really like it. When a song has a name in it, it makes it seem more genuine, and it definitely works in this song.

The Keyboard and vocals at the beginning of “Bright Eyes” is flawless. Then when everything picks up at the end it’s truly a masterpiece in my eyes. It gave me chills. I thought it would be hard for the next song to follow that, but “Don’t Care Much” ended the album very well. It wasn’t my favorite, but I enjoyed the lyrics and the beat of the song. For some reason the female vocals seem a lot more mature sounding.

Overall, the album is definitely one worth checking out. The group has their own sound, and combines both of their talents to form an awesome duo. They definitely have the potential to go very far.
