Nikson Bluebird CD Review

By Ashley Pagano

Nikson is a band from Gyõr, Hungary. The band consists of four members and formed back in 2005. They play about 40 shows a year and are getting more sponsors, such as the energy drink Cocaine, and Famous Stars And Straps. The band’s newest EP is titled Bluebird, and is short but definitely sweet, with three outstanding tracks.

The first track is “Never Ended”. To be quite honest, at first I was not a fan of the vocals. They came off quite nasally, but after listening to it more, it started to grow on me. This song has a really nice sound, and the guitars sound incredible. Not just the vocals, but every bit and piece of the song, is full of emotion and passion. Each song has its own message and expresses it so well.

The next song is “I Was Thinking…”. This one is my favorite of the three, because it’s about loving someone even through all their flaws and mistakes. The song also has an ability to keep your attention throughout the entire song, rather than being repetitive and monotonous.

Last but not least is “This Aint No Lie”. This song just makes me want to bang my head and dance around. It’s full of energy and pizazz. At the end, when the song slows down, and the percussion changes to clapping, It’s easier to hear some of the lyrics, and understand it better.

This band is absolutely mind blowing. They have a solid, real, genuine sound, and they definitely know how to write and put together good music. I hope to hear more from Nikson soon, and get others to take a listen as well.
