Kayley Guyette is Shred News’ editor. Before writing for Shred she wrote for University Of New Haven’s Pulp Magazine. Eric Sullivan came to her in March 2009 about starting Shred News. When not working on Shred News stuff Kayley is busy reading (as Eric and Craig say “she’s trying to read every book in the world) or writing (Kayley has a self published novel out called Under The Bernadotte Hotel). Curious about Kayley? Well we have an interview with her posting the end of this month! And yes you’ll find out why she needs campaign manager then.

Kate Voegele- A Fine Mess
This is my favorite of Kate’s two albums. This is another album I can listen to start to finish and not skip a track “Angel” “Sweet Silver Lining” and “Manhattan From The Sky” are all time favorites. And “99 Times” is 99 times better live than it is on the album. Kate’s one of the nicest and most down to earth artists I’ve ever interviewed. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

Brightwood-Wake
I’m not sure on the exact release date of this album and well let’s pretend it’s 2009. I found Brightwood randomly on the internet one day. They are one of the handful of bands I’ve fallen in love with at first listen. I love the entire album and I can’t wait to hear these songs live. This is my album of choice for when I’m writing or just need to relax. Please Brightwood, tour soon!

The Cab-The Lady Luck EP
While it is an EP, I can listen to it start to finish and not skip a single track. The album has me hyped for a future release from a band I already love. It’s got a collaboration (Take My Head featuring Cassadee Pope from Hey Monday), a cover song (I Want To Break Free) and original songs for the band, what more could you ask for?

We The Kings-Smile Kid
I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the follow up to their first album. But this album blew me away. This is my album of choice, at the moment, when I’m walking to and from classes. And the collaboration with Demi is quickly dominating my Top 25 Most Played.

Paramore-Brand New Eyes
I might be impartial on this one, but I’ll always have a place in my heart for Paramore. At first listen I didn’t like the album that much, second listen I loved it, third listen I hated it. It took me seeing them live to truly appreciate the album. Brick By Boring Brick as well as Careful are all time favorites. It’s crazy to see how far Paramore’s come since the 2005 release of All We Know Is Falling.

Demi Lovato- Here We Go Again
Say what you want about Disney Stars, but this girl is good. One of the performances I was looking the most forward to at Bamboozle as her. I wasn’t left disappointed in her live performance nor this CD. “Everytime I Lie” is a step away from the classic Disney Star song and is worth giving a chance. “You Got Nothing On Me” is a little more poppy and girlie than Paramore’s “Woah” but still had the crowd singing along just the same.

Cobra Starship-Hot Mess
This album has potential. And let’s face it Good Girls Go Bad made Cobra a household name. The album is perfect for a night out with friends. Cobra hasn’t disappointed me at all with their albums.

VersaEmerge-Self Titled
I was introduced to Versa by my best friend Pri and gained staff members Bekka and Popp because of them. I liked them at first, but then seeing them live at Warped Tour made me love them. I am anxiously awaiting the release of a full length from them. Sierra’s a step away from the cliche girl in the music industry in a good way.

Lady Gaga-The Fame
As hard as I tried to fight not giving into the Lady Gaga craze, I failed. I ended up buying the album and loving it. Most may think she’s crazy, a man, or both. But I think she and her management are geniuses. Her music is good and her crazy oufits get her talked about.

Lights-The Listening
I first saw Lights with Cute Is What We Aim and Boys Like Girls at a show at Northeastern. I liked her music and checked her out on MySpace. I love the album, it’s my go too album when I’m getting ready in the morning. The video for Ice is cool (get it?).
