As electro-rock bands are taking the music industry by storm, underground dance clubs are starting to acknowledge their importance to the electronic scene. In cities all across the U.S, there are indie/electro nights popping up at major nightclubs and concert venues. Unknown to many are the true broad classifications of dance music: house, techno, trance, electronic, and mash-up. Currently in the city of Boston, there is one DJ who is climbing to the top of the underground eletro-rock dance scene, Taylor Walker.

Tim Barry, the lead singer of Avail, takes a turn with his solo project, creating music that relates more to the folk, country and singer-songwriter genre. It’s a good escape from punk music and it allows his fans to open up to other kinds of music.

Flatfoot 56 is a Celtic punk band from Chicago established in 2000. The band consists of Tobin Bawinkel on vocals and guitar, Kyle Bawinkel on bass and backing vocals, Eric McMahon on bagpipes and guitar, Brandon Good on mandolin and guitar, and Justin Bawinkel on drums and backing vocals. The band is slated to release their latest album Black Thorn on St. Patrick’s Day March 17.

Forget everything you thought you knew about the mid 1960’s to early 1970’s. Forget what you thought you learned from the Beatles inspired Across the Universe, and don’t even consider the philosophical beliefs you obtained from Almost Famous. If you think Freddie Mercury was flashy, think again. The band of Montreal out does all of those artistic sources with a touch of elegant flamboyancy that is undeniably inspiring. of Montreal played at Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA on January 27th and delivered the most dynamic live set I have ever seen.

Adrian Grey is a pop punk/alternative band from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. They have just released their latest album, I’m Your Best Ever Bi-Polar Lover independently. The band made a bold decision to release this album for free download to their fans. When listening through the album, I found it to be a refreshing mix of upbeat music and more dark lyrics. With relatable and upfront lyrics, this album is sure to be a hit with fans.

Most people would feel that a band had ‘jumped the gun’ slightly if after just one rehearsal together they decided to up-sticks to Canada, saying a sudden goodbye to their native New Zealand home. What if – like so often with bands – the members fall-out? Perhaps, while tucking into their lumpy plane food, they decide that it’s all too soon? However, it’s to this remarkable determination and faith in their musical ability that Like A Storm owes much of their success.

At the age of 18, Christofer Ingle, also known as NeverShoutNever! has become a very successful artist, mainly through his music on MySpace. This acoustic pop writer recently gave fans the gift of some new tunes, with the new CD What Is Love? The same great sound remains constant, with 8 new songs thrown in.

Under Spinning Lights are a Pop-Punk quintet from Long Island,New York where they have have now become a household name over the last two years due to their rising popularity. They are known for their energetic and catchy tunes that you just can’t help but dance too. This party loving band is made up of brothers Eric(vocals) and Jay Pagan(vocals&guitar) alongside Max Iantorno(guitar), Dom Fazzari(bass) and last but certainly not least Kenny Gallart(drums).
